William Friedkin’s Films, Ranked
On August 7, 2023, film director extraordinaire William Friedkin, a.k.a. Hurricane Billy, passed away. Here’s my ranking of his 20 features.

The second, and last, TALES FROM THE CRYPT big screen spinoff
THE BUTCHER BOY
The brief acting career of the late Sinéad O’Connor reached its apex in this rancid little film from Ireland’s Neil Jordan
THE CABLE GUY
Among the more interesting (as opposed to good) 1990s Hollywood comedies was this attempt at complexity from director Ben Stiller and star Jim Carrey
THREE O’CLOCK HIGH
A John Hughes wannabe that’s almost good
2022: The Year in Bedlam
The latest installment of my annual Year in Bedlam overview
TEEN WOLF
Lackluster eighties comedy stuff, patterned on I WAS A TEENAGE WEREWOLF
TV Flashback: KINGDOM HOSPITAL
Stephen King adapts THE KINGDOM, and not very well
TOYS
