Below you’ll find the latest addition of my annual “Look Back in Horror” overview. Film, Fiction, Tributes.
What follows is my latest “Look Back in Horror” over the noteworthy horror movie/book related events of the past year, as well as some of my favorite literary and cinematic discoveries and noteworthy deaths.
Here we have the latest installment of my year end horror movie round-up, in which the best and worst of 2015’s horror cinema are ranked (according to me, anyway).
As always, 2015 was a good year for readers–provided they knew where to look. While there were a number of worthwhile books put out by the big publishing houses, the majority of the really good stuff, in my view, came from the so-called small presses like Pushkin, Centipede, Eibonvale, Vertical and others.
2014 was an above-average year for books in my view. Quite a few terrific titles turned up from both established and debuting authors, with a few, I’m certain, that will go on to become classics
Here we have the latest (admittedly quite belayed) installment of my annual overview of the previous year’s horror-minded publications
Publishing-wise 2012 contained more than its share of good, and sometimes even great, books
For fiction, 2011 was an only slightly better year than it was for movies—and cinematically it was a pretty rotten year
2010? It was a mediocre year for movies but for books it was a little better
To those who claim the horror story/novel is dead—or the horror novel is worn out, or fiction in general is dead, or whatever—I’ve got this to say: you haven’t been paying attention
