I wish I could say this zombie-themed anthology was the landmark it so desperately wants to be
Over-the-top gore is what this comic mini promises and delivers. If you’re looking for something beyond that you should probably pick something else.
The RING inspired narrative could admittedly be a bit stronger–and scarier–overall, but the novel is never less than readable and inviting, driven by Hooper’s hard-bitten, quintessentially Texan worldview.
I may be sick of zombies, but I do enjoy twisted holiday stories, and anyway that title was just too outrageous to pass up!
I’ve made no secret of the fact that I’m sick to death of zombie novels but this is an original take on the subject.
Let’s face it: horror media has lost its mojo… The genre can no longer be said to retain the subversive edge that I’d argue is vital to its survival. This past week, however, offered a ray of hope.
I’ve shunned most of the zombie apocalypse novels currently packing bookstore shelves, but did read DYING TO LIVE: LIFE SENTENCE, which turned out to be an above-average entry in every respect.
