Reviews & Commentary by Adam Groves
FREAKSHOW
The DVD cover art for this trash contains some pretty astounding hype promising “THE MOST HORRIFYING FILM OF THIS CENTURY” with “A CAST OF ACTUAL SIDESHOW PERFORMERS” that was “BANNED IN 43 COUNTRIES.” What can I say? I fell for it
FREAK OUT
No budget British comedy-horror from 2005. It’s utterly ludicrous, trashy and obnoxious—and also pretty damn funny!
FREAK ORLANDO
Perhaps the ultimate Freak Movie, this beyond-bizarre German phantasmagoria features human oddities of every conceivable assortment (some natural born, others created by prosthetic FX) in a surreal cavalcade the likes of which you won’t see anywhere else
FRANKENSTEIN UNBOUND
This 1990 horror/sci fi extravaganza was something of an event upon its initial release, even if it was ignored by its distributors (who gave it minimal support) and the general public (who didn’t bother turning out)
FRANKENSTEIN (1910)
This is the holy grail of horror films, a one-reel silent adaptation of Mary Shelley’s FRANKENSTEIN made under the auspices of Thomas Edison back in 1910
