Each of these anthologies has been bigger and better than the last, meaning A FEAST OF FRIGHTS is the most substantial of them all (at least until the next one).
FEAR IS THE RIDER
FEAR IS THE RIDER also contains a great deal of Cook’s celebrated descriptive power, although that’s ultimately about the only thing it really has in its favor.

Another novel for those who think they’ve heard it all, it being the story of a talking hole. Yes, a hole, or rather an oubliette, which not only serves as the story’s chief driving force but also narrates the thing.

he title FANTOMAS OF LONDON, as this book’s compiler David White admits in a brief forward, was inspired by another non-Fantomas affiliated Allain novel entitled FANTOMAS OF BERLIN–and also because “quite frankly Fantomas needs the publicity.”
